2006 – Going out without a bang

December 31st, 2006

Yesterday the entire family went to the bank. We needed to deposit my first paycheck in six years, a little Christmas money, CT’s allowance and we also needed to get something notarized. Needless to say, we were there for a while.

We stood in line to deposit our money, got sent to the back of the bank to count CT’s copious amounts of coins and then sat down and waited to see a banker.

Once our number was called, all five of us crammed into a cube. About thirty seconds into our description of the document another banker came rushing over and said there was an emergency. The two ladies flew off and quickly shut an office door behind them.

As quickly as they left they came back and curtly told us it would be a few minutes.

In those few minutes the doors were locked, the bank was closed, and the police arrived. The bank had been robbed.

While we were there, a man pulled a gun on a teller who was standing less than 10 feet away from our entire family. Now that is some crazy shit.
