Happy New Year
I love the New Year. It is always filled with so many promises of starting over or creating something new. It’s like spring, only in the dead of winter.
What will it be this year? I actually have not thought about resolutions, however, Adam has and it is called…2006 The Year of Organization. And since my motto happens to be “everything has a home” I will fully support this organizational endeavor of his and even take it on with him.
We actually started the organizational blitzkrieg last week, and we truly have only just begun. Thank god we have a whole year. We sent the kids pack’n to Nana’s and we spent the day un-cluttering our closets, pantry and getting ride of the fucking junk drawer which happens to create immense amounts of rage when you are looking for the really small screwdriver only to find the sewing needle you were looking for last week stuck in your pointer finger.
Adam has always claimed that the junk drawer is somehow my fault due to the fact that I had one as a kid and he didn’t, which is completely preposterous because it is totally his fault! Anyway, our junk drawer is now organized. The question is how long will it stay that way?

May you find peace, love and even a tiny bit of wonder today.
Happy Holidays!

My list…
Cleaning toilets
Deadheading flowers
Brushing teeth
Picking zits (only my own)
Oh, bring us a figgy pudding
One of my guilty pleasures of this time of year is listening to the oldies station from the day after Thanksgiving to Christmas. Yes, an entire month! And what do they play you ask…Christmas carols, all day, every day.
Fa la la laaaaaaaaaa.

C-lunch turns 1
Wow, one whole year old. I can’t believe I have been blathering away on the internet for a solid year. And, as I look back on this past year, I think of all the wonderful, crazy, sad, bewildering, typical and momentous things that have gone on in my life and can’t even imagine what year two will have in store.
I can’t wait to find out!

Oh, what to write about today, on a Friday afternoon when PJ keeps coming in and out of her room asking for a cup of tea in her fairy costume. I know it sounds cute…but it’s not.
Hmmm. I could write about our trip to the gym this morning. When I was trying to get the three of them out of the daycare and PJ wanted so badly to finish her art project and after the few moments I had given her to finish-up she threw a hissy fit, flopped to the ground undulating like a fish out of water and crying that she was now too tired to put her shoes on, her coat on, and for that matter just too tired to move (with the exception of the convulsions). As the day-care workers looked on in horror, I picked her up off the floor and now with two kids in my arms we made strides to leave. Then, on our way out, she hawked a big loogie all over the door jam. And then… AND THEN, I sent her back in to clean it up.
Or, I could write about the book I am trying to read, Sibling’s Without Rivalry, How to help your children live together so you can live too. You know, simple stuff, like how to teach a three and five year old how to resolve conflict. I just wish someone could shoot this shit straight into my brain. By the time I am done reading this book my kids will be done beating each other senseless and onto some other parenting book subject that I can’t quite find the time to read all the way through.
Or, maybe I should write about the subject of dinner…our friends are coming over tonight and there ain’t much going on in the fridge. We’ve got ground turkey? Thoughts? Maybe if we drink enough wine, it just won’t matter.
I think I’ll just skip writing today. None of this sounds remotely interesting.

Is it so wrong to want this or maybe this? Ever since we filled our living room with furniture two years back, I have wanted to add a chaise lounge to the collection.
It’s not so much that the piece would really work in the room or completely finish the room, but it would fit in the bay window, right where the sun shines in and I see myself laying down with a cozy comforter, the cat (maybe scratch that) and a great book.
And then I would buy a half naked man to fan me and hold grapes over my head.
Mmmmmmmm.

a. When it starts to have a white and filmy residue on it from the hard water.
b. When there are small dark flecks starting to pop up on one small area of the curtin.
c. When the whole lower third of the shower curtin has a new pattern of black splotches all over it.
We are working on creating a (d). And that would be anywhere from ½ to ¾ molded shower curtin.
I dare anyone to try and beat us.
